Hello!
Since entering college I have realized that it is okay to be unsure about what you want to do in life. Being unsure isn't a bad thing, acknowledging that will start to lead you onto the path to finding who you are!
I originally went in as a Politics, Philosophy, and Economics Major but now I am looking to change my major to Media and Film, but who knows that may change too! I am trying to do what makes me happy like photography each day, and getting involved with a major that will allow me to be creative.
I am unsure about what to do for a job during college. I want to follow my passions, make videos and photography, and I know making money through that can be difficult, but maybe I can. I do not know if another retail job is for me (or my wallet lol).
That is all I have for today. Just know it is okay to be unsure. You will find yourself.

Short Films To Watch About The Environment
Hello!
Recently I have been really into watching short films created on different topics of the environment. They are so interesting and informative. I have learned so much that I never thought I would have even thought about otherwise, like how light needs to reach the forest floor.
I hope you enjoy these:
Recently I have been really into watching short films created on different topics of the environment. They are so interesting and informative. I have learned so much that I never thought I would have even thought about otherwise, like how light needs to reach the forest floor.
I hope you enjoy these:
- This is where I learned why the sunlight needs to reach the forest floor, and the steps being taken to help regrown forests recover.
- This is about a man who used trash to create sustainable housing!
- This is about a cow farmer who could not handle the pain he would put these animals through by bringing them to slaughter. After raising them, and seeing them just as people see their dogs he struggled to continue his work, so he set out to change it.
- This one was by REI and about bird migrations. These animals are so beautiful and have an impact on the world in which we live.
I hope you enjoy these on this rainy day, at least it is raining where I am!
Thank you! Much love to you all!

College Snacks
Hello!
These are some of the snacks I have been having since arriving to college!
These are some of the snacks I have been having since arriving to college!
- Apple slices + Peanut Butter
- I don't have any apples currently ( I ate them all! but I will be getting more at the farmer's market) but the apple slices and peanut butter make such a filling, protein packed snack. Apple slices and Peanut Butter can cure any afternoon hunger, and keep you moving for the rest of your day! It is something that is so easy to bring to work or a cafeteria in high school, just grab some containers to put them in and pack them for the afternoon!
- Pretzels + Hummus
- This has been my go to, I have been obsessed. My most recent addition to this obsession is Sun Dried Tomato Basil Hummus. I love Cedar's and Joseph's! Sabra is good too, just usually more expensive. I also use different pretzels sometimes. I really like the thin salted pretzels, these are just the pretzels I have at the moment.
- Rice Cakes (optional: with avocado)
- I have loved having rice cakes! Sometimes I even mash up some avocado to put on top! They also make a great afternoon snack, or a couple can make a nice light lunch with some fruit. I even exchange the avocado for peanut butter sometimes!
- Vegan Yogurt!
- I have been grabbing some vegan yogurts from my local Whole Foods. This week it was kite hill which luckily are delicious! They are also packed with protein which make them a great snack for before or after a workout. The other yogurts I have been enjoying are by the Vega brand and So coconut milk yogurts.
- Chocolate Chip Cookies (more of a treat)
- I love a good chocolate chip cookie, and sometimes after a long day you really just need something sweet. The Divvies brand is a great option for those who are vegan. lactose free, or egg free!
I hope this gave you guys some ideas if you were running out of snack ideas! None of them are really bad for you, most sit pretty light in your tummy.
If you try any be sure to share them on instagram and tag me @grace.dooner !

Starting College: How It Is Going + Tips
Starting college can be scary. I am lucky enough to be going to college in a city relatively close to my home, but moving out and starting a new chapter is something quite daunting.
Adjusting over the past month was a slight challenge. Responsibility is all on me, if I miss a class that's on me. I have been setting multiple alarms for each day to make sure that doesn't happen. To everyone who wants to skip class in college, for my college skipping ONE class is equivalent to throwing out $300! Don't throw away $300!
I try to make sure my dorm room stays relatively clean. I clean the bathroom at least once a week. I try to wipe down the handles of doors, sinks, closets, etc. at least once a week as well. I clean dishes as I use them. Staying on top of cleaning is super important because the next thing you know you could end up with stacks of dirty dishes, a sticky desk, and a cold. So if you're reading this in your room right now, please take a second to wipe down your desk. I want you to stay healthy.
Speaking of staying healthy, nutrition is a big part of that. Yes, of course, be sure to take your vitamins( especially vitamin D if you're inside a lot), but make sure your food is providing actual nutrients. Get a salad from the dining hall at least once a week, get a green smoothie, eat your fruits and veggies. Find your local farmers market and stock up on reasonably priced fruits and veggies while supporting local farmers. For me, finding the local farmer's markets has been a huge part of my college experience so far. I am only on half of a meal plan due to all my tummy issues and the lack of vegan food options from dining halls. Overnight oats with fruit are a great option for breakfast, they fill you with energy and taste amazing. For lunch I tend to keep it light, a protein smoothie, some crackers. Around dinner I usually incorporate more soup, rice, nachos, pasta, etc. That is what I have for food so far! I wish I had a kitchen!
Living with someone new is a big step, it can be scary but approach it with a positive attitude. I have been lucky enough to have a very kind roommate.
Getting involved is something I am still working on. I am joining clubs, and figuring out where I want to be involved.
Finding a job has been difficult. In the city there is a lot of competition. As a full time student it can be hard to find accommodating schedules for jobs. I also didn't get the work study offer based off my FASFA. If anyone needs some freelancing photography in the city of Boston, let me know, lol!
That is all I have figured out so far. More is to come. Thank you for reading! I hope all is well with you.
